The Difference Between Fake Email and Temp Mail

People often use the terms "fake email" and "temp mail" interchangeably, but there is a distinct technical difference.

Fake Email A fake email is simply a string of text formatted like an email (e.g., `test@test.com`) that you type into a form when you don't want to give your real one. It does not actually have an inbox attached to it. If the website requires you to click a verification link, a fake email will fail because you cannot receive the link.

Temp Mail A temp mail is a fully functioning, real email address with a working SMTP server and a readable inbox. It just happens to be temporary. You can receive actual mail, click verification links, and read OTP codes.

Always use a Temp Mail instead of a fake email if you suspect the site will require verification!
